Health Policy Scholarships

The American College of Surgeons and the below co-sponsoring organizations offer an annual scholarship to subsidize attendance and participation in the Executive Leadership Program in Health Policy and Management at Brandeis University. The course takes place June 3–8, 2024.

Considering the necessary eligibility requirements are met, surgeons can apply for more than one award from a co-sponsoring organization. Only one award per year for any applicant will be awarded.

General Application Information

All applicants must be practicing surgeons in the United States.

Applicants are required to submit an online application, below is what is expected in the application:

  • Contact information (name, preferred postal address, e-mail address) and attestation.
  • A single PDF document that includes the following:
    • A one-page essay discussing:
      • Why the applicant wishes to receive the scholarship
      • How the scholarship will fill a gap in applicant's training or experience
      • Goals or plans to use the newly acquired knowledge or skills in his or her practice or community.
    • A current NIH-style biosketch (five-page maximum)

Open call for applications is in January. The deadline to apply for the Health Policy Scholarships is March 15.
