I have always been honored to be an ACS fellow. It is the one place that then entire house of surgery can work collaboratively to help our patients. I made great friends in my own, and other specialties, working as part of the Advisory Council and Young Surgeons Committee, and felt that I truly had a voice as a Governor. The ACS will always be home to me.
The 83rd Annual Clinical Congress of the American College of Surgeons took place October 12-17, 1997, in Chicago, IL. Below we have curated photos from the Clinical Congress and Convocation as well as the 1997 Convocation booklet. Make sure to take a look at our memories from 1997.

It has been a pleasure to serve in a capacity as Advisory Council Chair and on the program committee as the Liaison from the advisory council during my 25 years. It has allowed more continued collaboration within the house of surgery for educational and advocacy issues.
It’s hard to believe, 25 years. It’s been an honor to be a fellow of the ACS. The College inspires me to give my best for our patients each and every day.
1997 was a big year, from J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone being published in the U.K to US spacecraft beginning an exploration of Mars.
