The ACS H.O.P.E. Education Subcommittee works both within and outside the ACS to produce global surgery education opportunities for domestic and international learners. This subcommittee collects and reviews ACS H.O.P.E. Clinical Congress proposals (including the "Global Health Competencies for Surgeons" didactic course) and works with ACS H.O.P.E. staff to create scholarship applications and selection criteria. This subcommittee is also developing a longitudinal course on global surgery, which will be based on the "Global Health Competencies for Surgeons" didactic course but will go more in-depth over several modules.
