Vision

Creating opportunities to support future surgeon investigators.

Mission

To create a comprehensive research program that trains the next generation of premiere surgeon-scientists in the United States.

Goals

The goal of the National Surgeon Scientist Program is to create a comprehensive surgeon scientist development program in the United States with a cohort represented by investigators at the NIH and academic centers around the country. Timelines and milestones created for principal investigators (PIs), and tracked for 1) manuscript submission, 2) grant proposal submissions, 3) national presentations, and 4) progress reports with the future goal of funded research grants.
