Health & Safety Information

To ensure safety for all in-person participants in Denver, it is strongly encouraged that attendees are fully vaccinated (as defined by the CDC). Attendees should test prior to travel and refrain from participating in the 2024 ACS Quality and Safety Conference if symptoms of COVID-19 or other illness are present.

We want to remind attendees to exercise caution when traveling. Consider walking in pairs or groups and removing your conference badge when outside of the meeting.

High Altitude & Weather Tips

See the City of Denver’s website for a full list of recommendations for staying healthy at a mile high, but here are a few tips.

  • Drink plenty of water — The low humidity in Colorado keeps the air dry, so you need about twice the amount of water you would drink at home.
  • Monitor your alcohol intake — Golf balls go 10% farther … and so do cocktails. Alcoholic beverages affect you more acutely than at sea level.
  • Eat food high in potassium — Broccoli, bananas, and avocados are just a few of the foods that help replenish electrolytes by balancing salt intake.
