Join Expert Speakers in Exploring the Value of Quality and Safety

The theme of the 2024 ACS Quality and Safety Conference, being held July, 18–21, at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, CO, is “The Power of Value: Expanding Your Impact.” Six of the general sessions, including the first-ever general session workshop, will explore how to recognize, measure, and prove the value of your individual contributions, and of quality initiatives as a whole. You will have a chance to engage with fellow attendees and learn from leaders in surgical quality improvement.

Friday, July 19

General Session 2 | Unveiling the Vision of Value
8:30–9:00 am

Dr. Clifford Ko, Director of the ACS Division of Research and Optimal Patient Care, will lay out the vision for the conference and how value can be applied in many settings. You will learn how to navigate the conference and get the most out of your experience.

General Session 3 | The Power of Value: Expanding Your Impact
9:00–10:30 am

No matter the role you play, the value you contribute is vital. This session will share how leaders in quality improvement expand their impact through advancing knowledge, leadership, change management, implementation of new technologies, and teamwork.

Saturday, July 20

General Session 5 | Aligning Quality Metrics with Value in Real-World Settings
8:00–9:30 am

Experts share their perspectives on defining and aligning quality metrics and value in real-world settings. You will bring these perspectives into the following session: the general session workshop.

General Session Workshop | Measuring Value—From Stakeholder to Stakeholder
10:00–11:30 am

In the first-ever general session workshop, attendees will break out into smaller workshop sessions, where faculty will lead discussions about what is currently being measured in their programs, areas for opportunity, lessons learned, and actionable next steps.

General Session 6 | Cultivating Collaboration to Increase Value
9:30–11:00 am

Achieving quality and safety requires teamwork, not only within a hospital, but across systems and among disciplines. This session will share key insights into breaking down barriers and building productive, lasting partnerships.

General Session 7 | Navigating the Future of Value: A Forward-Thinking Approach
11:15–12:30 am

In this session, experts discuss what’s next for value in healthcare, followed by closing remarks.
