Commendation Corner

The ACS CPDA section encourages you to consider integrating the ACCME Commendation Criteria into your educational activities. This page highlights ways to incorporate Commendation Criteria that may be helpful when planning your CME activity.

  • Engage members of interprofessional teams in the planning and delivery of educational content (Criterion 23): In addition to physicians, consider designing education with a team-based approach. This may include inviting nurses, pharmacists, social workers, pharmacists, along with physicians to plan the CME activity, in addition to presenting the educational content.
  • Engaging patients in the planning and delivery of educational content (Criterion 24): Consider including a patient representative who works with your planning committee, featuring a patient on either a panel or as a presenter, or creating communication workshops where patients provide feedback to medical professionals based on various clinical scenarios.
