ACS Programs for Medical Students and Residents

Once you become a resident, you have the option of becoming a member of the Resident Group of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), who along with Fellows having Associate status, make up the Resident and Associate Society of the American College of Surgeons (RAS-ACS). Formed in 1999, the RAS-ACS was created to benefit surgeons of the future through involvement in activities of the College.

Open to students at the resident level, the College offers several Research Scholarships, Fellowships, and Awards as an important part of the College's efforts to assist young surgeons in the pursuit of scholarship.

After the RAS-ACS, the next level of Fellowship status is Fellow.

The Resident and Associate Society - American College of Surgeons (RAS-ACS) Career Opportunities Position and Resume Databank is published as a service for Fellows who have openings for surgeons, residents, or fellows and are seeking qualified surgeons to fill these positions, and for applicants who seek positions. An ACS membership ID number is required to access this database.
