Minnesota Surgical Society - a Chapter of the ACS

Minnesota Surgical Society (MSS), a chapter of the American College of Surgeons, is the premier membership organization for surgeons in the state of Minnesota. The mission of MSS is to promote the knowledge of the science of surgery, to encourage the study of surgical literature, to elevate the standards of surgery and to educate the public and the profession with respect to surgical care. MSS is comprised of more than 160 surgeons, in various practice settings, located throughout the state and hosts two meetings per year, one in the spring and one in the fall. The Chapter also offers, on an annual basis, between two to four scholarships for humanitarian surgical efforts. The scholarships are open to General Surgery residents or senior medical students who participate in an international surgical elective located in a resource-poor setting.

Membership in the American College of Surgeons does not include automatic enrollment in the local chapter.
