New Mexico Chapter of the American College of Surgeons is dedicated to improving the care of the surgical patient and to safeguarding standards of care in an optimal and ethical practice environment. Chapter membership is open to all New Mexico Surgeons, Fellows and Associate Fellows of the College, as well as to Resident and Medical Student Members. The Chapter provide for a close association of their common effort to improve the quality of surgical care. They also offer a medium through which surgical experiences may be presented and discussed, and constitute a common ground for specialties in various branches of surgery to communicate with each other. The Chapter meets every year in September for their annual meeting, which includes a Continuing Medical Education (CME) Program. Members from all over the state come together to learn the latest ACS surgical advocacy updates, new state requirements and how it impact surgical practices, and learning and applying the most up-to-date surgical practices as presented by UNM Residents and Fellow for the annual abstract competition.
Membership in the American College of Surgeons does not include automatic enrollment in the local chapter. Please contact the individual listed below to learn more about how to join your chapter today!
