The annual Leadership & Advocacy Summit is an opportunity for ACS members at all levels to connect with ACS leaders and learn how to get involved, participate in discussions on innovative ways to face leadership and surgical challenges, and enhance leadership skills through professional development sessions. The Summit is a dual meeting that offers volunteer leaders and advocates educational sessions focused on effective surgeon leadership, chapter success stories, as well as interactive advocacy training with coordinated visits to congressional offices.
The Chapter Leadership Series is an important component of the ACS' strategy to support chapters. The program is designed to provide chapter officers with the tools they need to succeed as chapters leaders, and to provide them with an opportunity to network and share best practices with colleagues in similar roles.
The International Governors and Chapter Officers meet in person during Clinical Congress and virtually throughout the year. The purpose of these meetings is to discuss and receive updates on international data and trends, the International Relations Committee, the Governors Chapter Activities International Workgroup, chapter engagement with young surgeons, resources available to international chapters, and activities from the ACS international regions.
