ACS Communities

ACS Communities is the members-only, online community of the ACS. This networking tool provides an environment in which ACS members can not only connect, engage, and share information and best practices in real time, but can also ask advice, share experiences, exchange resources, and build professional relationships.

Communities are organized by specialty (e.g., general surgery, cardiothoracic surgery), discussion on clinical topics and direct care of the surgical patient, non-clinical topics (e.g., history of surgery, advocacy), and a mix of clinical and non-clinical topics (e.g., residents, women in surgery).

Unlike traditional professional networks such as LinkedIn, ACS Communities' private forums are protected by multiple security levels that give members of the College the place they need to discuss the things that matter most to them in a way that does not jeopardize the privacy of their patients. In addition, new features will be added in the coming months to make ACS Communities even more collaborative.

To join communities, log in to ACS Communities, go to “Browse All Communities” near the top of any page, and click the blue “Join” button next to the community you’d like to join. If you have any questions, please send them to acscommunities@facs.org.

ACS Communities are designed to help members connect, engage, share information, and get advice from their peers. Review the list of Communities below and choose the groups that will be most beneficial to your practice.
