ACS Academy of Master Surgeon Educators: Advancing Surgical Education Internationally

This Webinar will provide an overview of the Academy’s mission and goals, with a specific focus on the benefits for international Fellows of the ACS. The Academy plays a leadership role in advancing the science and practice of education across all surgical specialties and across the world, and promoting the highest achievements in the lifetimes of surgeons. The Academy is committed to identifying qualified surgeon educators from international countries to become engaged with the Academy, especially those from low-middle income countries (LMIC).

Ajit K. Sachdeva, MD, FACS, FRCSC
Dr. Sachdeva is the founding director of the division of education at the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Sachdeva has served as president of the Association for Surgical Education, president of the American Association for Cancer Education, president of the Alliance for Clinical Education, president of the Council of Medical Specialty Societies, and president of the Society for Academic Continuing Medical Education.

L.D. Britt, MD, FACS
Dr. L. D. Britt, a graduate of Harvard Medical School and Harvard School of Public Health, is the Brickhouse Professor and Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Dr. Britt is the past President of the Society of Surgical Chairs and the past Chairman of the ACGME Residency Review Committee for Surgery.

Sir Murray F. Brennan, MD, FACS, MAMSE
Dr. Murray Brennan is an oncologic surgeon-scientist. He was Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, served as Vice President of International Programs and Director of the Bobst International Center and since 2018 as Senior Vice President of International Programs. Dr. Brennan is a Founding Member of the American College of Surgeons Academy of Master Surgeon Educators and serves on its Steering Committee.
