So, you want to be a surgeon? Here’s how we can help!

Join the more than 3,000 medical students across the country who have turned to the American College of Surgeons (ACS) to learn more about how to prepare for a career in surgery. As a Medical Student Member, you will receive access to a wide variety of benefits to enhance your professional experience and assist you on your path to becoming a surgeon.

  • Access to the Journal of the American College of Surgeons and other publications including the Medical Student News.
  • Deep discounts on educational products to guide your career in surgery including the Medical Student Program at the annual Clinical Congress.
  • Opportunities for engagement at the annual Clinical Congress, at your local Chapter, and through the ACS online Communities.
  • Access to members-only discount programs.

Membership is only $20 and covers all years of medical school.

Membership Requirements

Medical Student Membership is available to students currently enrolled in an accredited allopathic or osteopathic medical school in the United States, Canada, and international countries.

Application Process

Complete the online application for Medical Student membership. If you created a log in from a prior purchase, use your log in to access the application. Otherwise you will need to create a log in.

Before you begin your application have the following information accessible:

  • Information about your medical education.
  • Verification that you are currently attending medical school. All documents must be in English.
  • Information about your graduate degree.

Fees and Dues

Application Fee: $20
Annual dues are not required.

Membership expires upon graduation from medical school at which time you can upgrade to Resident Membership for FREE if you are entering a surgical residency.
