This presentation gives attendees an understanding of what, how, why, and when it is important to code clinical procedures properly for documentation purposes at your institution.
Jayme D. Lieberman is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Lehigh Valley Health Network campus of the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine in Allentown, PA. He is board certified in both Surgical Critical Care and General Surgery. He also has earned an MBA degree with a focus in Multi-Sector Heath Management. In addition to his clinical and educational duties at LVHN, he is actively involved in initiatives to improve documentation, coding, value-analysis, supply chain, and protocol development. He has also been named Vice Chair, Department of Surgery LVHN—Hazelton and Assistant Medical Director, Lehigh Valley Physicians Group—Hazelton.
Dr. Lieberman has been a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons for nearly 10 years. He is an active member of the ACS General Surgery Coding and Reimbursement Committee. This committee acts in interests of general surgeons for many legislative and regulatory issues that impact coding, billing, and reimbursement for general surgical services.
