Past YFA Leaders

The Committee to Study Relationships with Young Surgeons was established with ad hoc status in 1969. In a letter dated June 12, 1973, Dr. Hanlon communicated to Dr. Eric W. Fonkalsrud, Chair of the ad hoc Committee, that the Committee’s ad hoc status had been changed to "'standing’ at [the] recent Regents’ meeting.” The Committee’s name was changed twice subsequently: once in 1980, to Committee on Young Surgeons, and again in 2009, to Young Fellows Association.
