August 1, 2023

The ACS Surgeon Specific Registry (ACS SSR™) is a comprehensive online quality improvement tool and software application database focused on individual surgeons and surgical practices, and it is convenient and easy to use from any computer or mobile device (iOS and Android).

Reporting analytics assist SSR subscribers review their case data and develop quality initiatives to improve outcomes. More than 14.2 million case records have been entered into the registry, which has approximately 7,000 surgeon subscribers.

The SSR was formatted to customize data collection and data review to individual goals for improving surgical quality practice. Key features include:

  • Personal case data in one place. The database allows individual surgeons to store their data in one place across any number of practice settings throughout a career. Cases can be recorded individually or in bulk using the uploader tool.
  • Benchmarks available for comparison. Surgeons can compare their individual case data to aggregated SSR and National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP®) data focusing on preoperative and postoperative variables.
  • Opportunities for improvement and participation in the SSR Practice Improvement Initiative. Clinically meaningful data collection and analyses can assist surgeons in their outcomes assessment. Analyses can be focused on specific procedures, procedure-related variables, or specific patient populations, which can be used to identify opportunities for improvement that will impact your quality of care. Real-time reports are available to review preoperative and postoperative outcomes data, including the SSR benchmarking report.
