A new on-demand patient education course, Breast Cancer Surgery: Meeting Standards and Improving Outcomes-Enduring, is now available. This course, based on a July webinar, teaches how to apply best practices and improve surgical outcomes through patient education.

Patient education and surgical breast cancer experts will review current practices in breast cancer surgical care, including pain management, lymphedema prevention, and wound care. In addition, easy-to-use educational programs and checklists that are aligned with the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) standards will be presented.

The webinar costs $30 to attend and offers CME and CE credit.

Speakers in this enduring content, include Nancy Gantt, MD, FACS, ACS First Vice-President-Elect, who will provide an overview of breast cancer surgery patient education; Ronald J. Weigel, MD, PhD, MBA, FACS, Medical Director of ACS Cancer Programs, who will discuss insights from the NAPBC; Leigh Neumayer, MD, MS, MBA, FACS, past-Chair of the ACS Board of Regents, who will cover wound care; and several other experts in breast cancer surgery and recovery.
