Surgical Residents May Benefit from Federal Student Debt Relief

Last week, the Biden Administration announced plans to cancel up to $20,000 in student loan debt for individuals earning $125,000 or less per year.

A Becker’s Hospital Review article laid out some key facts on how the debt cancelation may benefit healthcare workers, and the federal government has a questions-and-answers page that’s available with additional details. An application process is expected to launch within the next few weeks. While some are eligible to have their debt forgiven automatically, others may have to complete an application.
