Watch Virtual Grand Rounds on Entrustable Professional Activities

The ACS Academy of Master Surgeon Educators will offer Virtual Grand Rounds, “Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) in the Age of Competency-based Surgical Education,” 7:00–8:00 pm Central this coming Thursday, February 16. The discussion will cover the history of EPAs, practical implementation of EPAs by general surgery residency programs, and the EPA requirements of the American Board of Surgery (ABS) for general surgery residents. The ABS EPA project is scheduled to launch in July 2023. 

Panelists include:

• Jo Buyske, MD, FACS, ABS president and CEO
• Brenessa Lindeman, MD, MEHP, FACS, associate professor of surgery and medical education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham
• John Mellinger, MD, FACS, ABS vice-president

Audience members will be invited to participate in an active discussion. The Virtual Grand Rounds program is available to all members of the surgical community at no cost.
