The ACS has announced the 8th annual ACS Symposium for Research in Surgical Palliative Care, which will be held virtually 7:00–8:30 pm CT Thursday, May 2. As in past years, the Symposium will offer "quick shot" style presentations with respondents, a lively exchange of ideas among the many attendees, and plentiful online networking opportunities.

Interested surgeons are invited to submit an abstract to be considered for inclusion in this year's Symposium. Submissions related to palliative care in quality improvement, innovations in care processes, education, outcomes research, qualitative studies, and ongoing works-in-progress are welcome. Note that each presentation will be limited to 5 minutes to allow for diverse topics and rich response and discussion.

Abstracts should be submitted as a single-page PDF document including the title of the presentation, name(s) of the presenter and any coauthors, and a brief synopsis consisting of Background, Methods, Results (preliminary or expected results for works in process are acceptable), and Conclusions.

Abstracts must be submitted by 11:59 pm CT Friday, March 1. They will then be forwarded to the selection committee for review, and those selected to present will be notified in early April.

You are encouraged to share information on the Symposium with others interested in surgical palliative care.  Contact Cassie Buchignani at cbuchignani@facs.org for more information.
