Surgeons Discuss Refractory and Recurrent Idiopathic Granulomatous Mastitis Treatment

In the latest episode of The Operative Word podcast, Dr. Lillian Erdahl is joined by Dr. Fatemeh Shojaeian from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine to discuss Dr. Shojaeian’s recent article in the Journal of the American College of Surgeons (JACS), “Refractory and Recurrent Idiopathic Granulomatous Mastitis Treatment: Adaptive, Randomized Clinical Trial.” 

The authors found that, for resistant or relapsing patients with idiopathic granulomatous mastitis, combining methotrexate and corticosteroids offers a promising strategy. A subscription to JACS is a free benefit for all ACS members.
