Registration is now open for the 2024 ACS Leadership & Advocacy Summit, which will be held April 13–16, at the Westin Washington, DC Downtown Hotel. The Summit offers comprehensive and specialized sessions to provide ACS members, leaders, and advocates with topics focused on effective surgeon leadership, as well as interactive advocacy training and coordinated in-person visits at congressional offices.
Leadership Summit
The Leadership Summit includes 2 days of programming covering an in-depth exploration of leadership principles. The Summit starts on Saturday with optional sessions that feature new topics on risk management, communications, and challenges in practice management. On Sunday, the traditional programming showcases compelling speakers addressing key themes in surgical leadership. During the Leadership Summit, attendees will learn new and innovative ways to face challenges and enhance their leadership skills, both in and out of the operating room.
The Leadership Summit is a hybrid event with in-person and virtual registration options open to all ACS members and non-members. In-person attendees will experience the onsite program and receive access to livestreamed and on-demand recordings. Virtual attendees will have access to the livestreamed and on-demand content
Advocacy Summit
The Advocacy Summit will be an in-person event with some recorded sessions. There will be no virtual option to view the Advocacy Summit. Congressional meetings also will be in person. The Advocacy Summit is open only to ACS members in the US since the content is not applicable to international members.
The Advocacy Summit will provide an update on policy priorities that the College is advocating for with federal lawmakers. Advocacy training and scheduled congressional visits will be provided as part of the event.
This scholarship will cover up to $500 in housing and transportation costs, which also may include registration fees. To be eligible, applicants must be US Resident Members in good standing with the ACS.
