The American Board of Surgery (ABS) recently made changes to its continuing medical education (CME) processes, which impact the way diplomates interact with the Board, upload CME credits, and meet Continuous Certification requirements.
If you are an ABS diplomate, you can rest assured that you can continue to transfer your ACS-verified CME data to the ABS directly from your MyCME portal as you have always done.
The ability to directly transmit CME data from the ACS MyCME portal to the ABS has been a longtime ACS membership benefit. Many surgeons use our easy, two-step process for uploading CME credits from their MyCME profile to the Board. To ensure your CME data for ACS activities are transferred appropriately, you should continue to use this same process, which will electronically transmit your ACS-verified CME data to the ABS via the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education.
