Whether a resident, attending, international medical graduate, or an incoming chief, having a mentor will help young surgeons in both anticipated and unanticipated ways throughout their careers. Finding a mentor who fits a surgeon’s needs and will be able to champion their success is vital.
Next month, the ACS will host a moderated Q&A session, “How to Find a Mentor that Works for You,” where attendees will hear from experts in the surgical field and discuss how to find the best mentor that fits their needs as a surgeon. Panelists will be from the International Relations Committee, International Medical Graduate Subcommittee, Women in Surgery Committee, and the Committee to Advance DEI.
After the moderated discussion, there will be time for an audience Q&A portion.
