Read New RISE Article on Cultural Dexterity in Patient Care

A new article is available on the Resources in Surgical Education (RISE) webpage, “Improving Culturally Dexterous Care for Surgical Patients: The PACTS Trial.” The article describes the disparities of COVID-19 infection that have highlighted structural racism and inequities in healthcare and examines how culturally dexterous team can alleviate some of these challenges.

The article will help readers to identify the importance of culturally dexterous care in combatting racial disparities in surgical care, discover educational interventions which may improve the culturally dexterous care provided by residents and identify potential benefits of incorporating cultural dexterity training into resident education.
