Building successful and sustainable diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives in surgery requires considerable effort, but keeping DEI top of mind for trainees starting in medical school can help develop surgeons who are ready to lead in this space. On Thursday, June 30, at 8:00 am ET, the AIS Channel, in alliance with the ACS, will host a free program, Deans Driving Diversity. During the program, medical school deans and ACS leaders will discuss how they succeed and share immediately implementable toolkits and pathways to achieve DEI goals.
