Submit Nominations by June 27 for RAS-ACS Outstanding Mentor of the Year Award

Has someone inspired you to become involved in the ACS and been a surgical mentor to you? If you are a Resident Member or Associate Fellow of the College, nominate your mentor for the Resident and Associate Society (RAS-ACS) Outstanding Mentor of the Year Award. Nominations are due by ------day, June 27, 2022.

The RAS-ACS Outstanding Mentor of the Year Award was created to honor a noteworthy ACS Fellow who has had a marked impact on the engagement of a Resident Member or Associate Fellow and has offered the support and encouragement necessary for a solid foundation in surgery. Mentors from any surgical specialty are eligible for the award and encouraged to be nominated.

Nominees should be Fellows of the College, and nominators should be Resident Members or Associate Fellows. More than one RAS member may recommend the same nominee.

Nominations should be accompanied by:

• A nomination letter, not to exceed two single-spaced pages, supporting the nominee’s efforts to engage young surgeons in the ACS and the impact this experience had on the nominator. Examples of mentorship include intellectual, social, and moral support, as well as career development/advancement
• Name, position, institution, and contact information of the nominee
• Name, position, institution and contact information of the nominator(s)

The winner of the award will be announced at Clinical Congress 2022 in October. Submit today!
