The Medical Student Program

The ACS has established the Medical Student Travel Award for Clinical Congress 2024, a unique opportunity designed to support a medical student interested in surgery and the College’s mission.

The awardee will be able to attend Clinical Congress 2024 in San Francisco, California, October 19-22, and gain valuable insights and connections. They will receive $2,000 to cover flight, hotel, and reasonable travel expenses. All receipts must be submitted to the ACS with unused funds within 45 days of Clinical Congress.

This award is only open to all Domestic and International medical student members in years 1 through 3 of their education. Applicants must be a current member of the ACS (become a member for only $20).

Applications must be submitted online, and the submission link will automatically close at 11:59 pm CT on Monday, July 1. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

A brief, 300-word or less essay submission is required, which should include your interest in surgery and a description how you will utilize this opportunity to meet possible mentors (residents/attendings).
