Surgical Jeopardy, one of the most popular sessions at Clinical Congress each year, is seeking a new host for the annual event. Mark Bowyer, MD, FACS, who developed the game and has served as its host for more than a decade, will be stepping down after this year.
The ACS Resident and Associate Society (RAS), which sponsors the event, and the Young Fellows Association (YFA) are now accepting applications for a new host.
Surgical Jeopardy is a competitive panel session at Clinical Congress where 32 teams of two contestants compete in three rounds, Surgical Jeopardy, Double Jeopardy, and Final Jeopardy, to vie for the top score in a fun and friendly game of surgical knowledge. Each team represents an ACS Chapter and/or residency program. Members of the RAS Education Committee develop the questions and categories each year, with assistance from the YFA.
Two to three potential hosts will have the opportunity to work with Dr. Bowyer, RAS, and YFA to plan and execute this year's competition at the Clinical Congress 2024. Selected hosts also will have the opportunity to serve as host for some of the rounds.
This year's competition will take place 8:00–11:30 am on Tuesday, October 22, at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco.
