The COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly affected the training of aspiring surgeons, including their identity formation—the process of internalizing the values of their profession. The ACS Academy of Master Surgeon Educators® will discuss this evolving situation in the Virtual Grand Rounds, Identity Formation of Medical Students and Surgery Residents: Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic, 7:00−8:00 pm CT on Thursday, June 23. This program is part of the College’s efforts to address challenges in surgery resident training during the pandemic and harness opportunities to transform training for the future.
Panelists will include Mary E. Klingensmith, MD, FACS, Douglas S. Smink, MD, MPH, FACS, and Paula M. Termuhlen, MD, FACS. Audience members can participate in an active discussion.
Register for free today on the ACS website. The session also will be recorded and available for viewing on the Academy’s web page. Each Virtual Grand Rounds session is designated for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.
