Enroll New Residents in Readiness Assessment Program

The ACS offers an Entering Residents Readiness Assessment (ERRA) program to help ensure PGY-1s have successful careers in surgery.

ERRA is a psychometrically rigorous case-based instrument that focuses on clinical decision-making and is customized for residents and program directors. The assessment provides valuable insights into a resident’s strengths, weaknesses, and preparedness to assume new responsibilities. Score reports include templates for development of individualized learning plans with suggested resources.

Enrollment is underway now through May 31 for the 2024 proctored assessment. Administration occurs June 10–July 3.

The cost is $135 per resident, and program directors are welcome to complete the assessment themselves free of charge to become more familiar with it.
