The end of medical school and the transition to residency is one of the most exciting times in a physician’s career—but it also is a period that may bring some uncertainty. To help offer guidance, the ACS is offering two panel events for medical students looking ahead to residency and newly matched residents.
What happens after the career-beginning milestone of matching into residency? The ACS Committee on Medical Student Education is hosting a free webinar, “What to Expect Now That You’ve Matched,” to mark this momentous occasion. The webinar will feature a panel of residents:
Attendees will be able to submit questions ahead of time when they register, as well as submit questions to the panelists during the live session.
For those unable to attend, a recording of this webinar will be posted on the National Professional Development Seminars for Medical Students webpage.
Register in advance to participate. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email containing the information necessary to join the webinar.

Administrators of the Medical Student section of the ACS Communities are hosting a Zoom panel session with recently matched surgery residents to hear their successful surgical match stories. They will provide helpful tips on becoming a competitive applicant for surgery, as well as answer questions on the match process, US Medical Licensing xamination exams/scores, interview questions, research experiences, leadership experiences, and any other audience-provided topics.
This discussion is open to both ACS members and nonmembers. Registration is required for the event, and you can submit questions for the panel.
