RAS Hangout

Residents Invited to November 7 Discussion on Optimizing Research Years

November 1, 2022

Surgery residency and training place many demands on young surgeons, so time dedicated to research needs to be effective and efficient. If you are interested in learning how to make the most of your research years, join the next Resident and Associate Society (RAS) Hangout for a casual conversation about How to Optimize Your Research Years. The Hangout is  at 7:00 pm Central on Monday, November 7.

Hosted by RAS leaders Anthony Villano, MD, and Julia R. Coleman, MD, MPH, participants will:

  • Discuss key qualities of a successful lab or mentoring relationship for research
  • Describe ways to secure a research position
  • Cultivate habits that optimize your research output
  • Identify pitfalls to avoid while on dedicated research years
  • Align expectations for productivity while on research years, both clinical and basic science

Registration is required for this free event. After registering, you will receive dial-in details. Contact RASnews@facs.org for more information.
