High Schoolers Are Introduced to a Career in Medicine and Surgery at Clinical Congress

The ACS hosted its annual “A Day with the American College of Surgeons” high school program at the Clinical Congress 2023 in Boston, Massachusetts. This unique initiative introduces high school students, especially those who are under-represented in medicine, to the joys of a career in medicine and surgery at a time when they are formulating future life plans.

About 70 students from four local Boston-area high schools learned about careers in surgery, as well as basic life-saving bleeding control techniques through the College’s STOP THE BLEED^® program.
