The ACS Academy of Master Surgeon Educators virtual Fireside Chat Series connects you with experts for an open dialog driven by audience questions. The next session will be a discussion with ACS Past-President Julie A. Freischlag, MD, FACS, DFSVS, on her career, lessons learned, and tenure as an ACS leader. The Fireside Chat takes place at 7:00 pm CT on Thursday, November 9.
Dr. Freischlag is chief executive officer of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, chief academic officer of Advocate Health and executive vice president for health affairs of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. As a member of the executive leadership team, she is responsible for the academic core of Advocate Health, the third largest nonprofit integrated health system in the US. In this role, she oversees research and discovery for the entire Advocate Health System.
In addition to serving as ACS President, Dr. Freischlag also has served as Chair of the Board of Regents and been a member of several Regental workgroups, served on the Board of Governors Executive Committee, and played a role on various other ACS committees.
The host for the Fireside Chat is Mohsen M. Shabahang, MD, PhD, FACS, Chair of the Subcommittee on Novel Teaching and Assessment Methods and Educational Resources for the ACS Academy of Master Surgeon Educators. Ajit K. Sachdeva, MD, FACS, FRCSC, FSACME, Director of the ACS Division of Education and Co-Chair of the ACS Academy of Master Surgeon Educators Steering Committee, will give welcoming remarks.
