Women Surgeons Share “What I Wish I Knew” in Updated Video Series

Many important lessons are learned throughout a surgical career. The ACS Women in Surgery Committee recently updated its “What I Wish I Knew” video series with additions from four surgeons reflecting on some useful tips and knowledge they’ve learned. Check out the newest videos:

  • Christina Cellini, MD, FACS, shares the importance of knowing “who’s who” in your workplace and getting to know your chief or chair and checking about your work and goals.
  • Sharmila Dissanaike, MD, FACS, shares tips on organization for all career accomplishments and contributions and understanding the ebb and flow and management of professional and personal life.
  • Shannon Foster, MD, FACS, shares her experience of learning the surgeon's role in the business and practice of medicine and how a diversity of practice setting is important for surgeons.
