Participate in Hands-On Decision-Making and Ergonomics Clinics

September 17, 2024

Two popular hands-on clinics will return to the exhibit floor at this year’s Clinical Conference—the Surgical Metrics Project and the Surgical Ergonomics Clinic.

These interactive booths provide surgeons a unique opportunity to learn and get feedback on their decision-making or surgical form and are available only by registering for in-person attendance at Clinical Congress 2024, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California.

Surgical Metrics Project
October 20–22

Stop by the Surgical Metrics Project booth in the Moscone South Exhibit Hall for an opportunity to explore digital data and surgical techniques using motion sensors, surgical video, EEG technology, and other wearable devices.

Each participant will complete a brief survey and consent form and then will apply sensors to their fingers (worn under surgical gloves to record hand motions) and forehead (to record electroencephalographic data on their thought processes while operating). A simulated surgery using inanimate tissues follows; participants will have a chance to see the digital data generated from their efforts.

No separate advanced registration is required.

Surgical Ergonomics Clinic
October 20–22

Reserve space to participate in the third ACS Surgical Ergonomics Hands-On Clinic for practicing surgeons and surgery residents, which aims to positively impact ergonomic challenges experienced by surgeons worldwide.

The Surgical Ergonomics Clinic, also in the Moscone South Exhibit Hall, will feature three simulation stations with open, laparoscopic, and robotic surgery equipment to offer hands-on learning experiences in surgical ergonomics. Ergonomic coaches will help participating surgeons learn about the recently revised ACS Surgical Ergonomics Recommendations and apply the recommendations in a simulated environment at each station.

A reservation is required to participate in the Surgical Ergonomics Clinic, and reservations are available for institutions or individuals. Learn more and register today.
