ACS/ASBrS International Scholar announced

Guldeniz Karadeniz Cakmak, MD, FACS, a breast and endocrine surgeon at Bulent Ecevit University School of Medicine Zonguldak, Turkey, was recently selected to receive the 2018 American College of Surgeons (ACS)/American Society of Breast Surgeons (ASBrS) International Scholarship. Dr. Karadeniz Cakmak works to improve the quality of care for breast cancer patients and to expand patient access to information and treatment. Her $5,000 award will subsidize her attendance at the annual meeting of the ASBrS May 2−6 in Orlando, FL. She also will visit the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers located at the ACS headquarters in Chicago, IL. The next application deadline is anticipated to be in November 2018 for attendance and participation at the 2019 ASBrS annual meeting.
