He was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star in 2013 for his achievement and valuable contribution to the medical sector and for the development of the surgical field. He also was appointed professor of surgery at the University College London, U.K., and Hunterian Professor (2009–2010) at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, commending his unwavering contribution in surgical advancements. His forte is minimal access surgery, with most noted experience for rectal cancers and robotic surgery.
