Journal of the American College of Surgeons is Now All-Digital

Coinciding with the transition to its new publisher, Wolters Kluwer, the Journal of the American College of Surgeons (JACS) became an online-only publication, starting with the January 2022 issue, to best serve the evolving needs of members and reduce its climate footprint. JACS will continue to offer all the original content that surgeons and the science community have come to associate with one of the most-read, most-cited monthly medical journals dedicated to surgery, all while looking toward the future of how scientific research will be shared.

“Transitioning the Journal of the American College of Surgeons to a digital publication comes with a host of benefits, including improved availability of high-quality JACS research, on demand in any location, a more convenient and customizable experience, and greatly reduced cost and environmental impact,” said Patricia L. Turner, MD, MBA, FACS, ACS Executive Director. “The original scientific articles, collective reviews, and experimental investigations with clear clinical relevance that JACS provides to the surgical community each month remains one of the College’s most notable member benefits, and we look forward to getting this important research to our readers as conveniently as possible.”
