100 Years of Quality: ACS COT and CoC Celebrate Centennial Anniversaries

April 1, 2022

The American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (ACS COT) kicked off its 100-year anniversary at the March ACS COT Annual Meeting in Seattle, WA. Throughout the year, the ACS COT will further raise public awareness of traumatic injury as a major public health issue and advocate for investment in the development of a national trauma and emergency preparedness system and sustainable research funding proportionate to the public health burden of injury. The ACS launched a special website (cot100.facs.org) to provide information on and celebrate the milestone. The May Bulletin will feature a writeup of some of the meeting’s biggest events.

The COT centennial coincides with the 100-year anniversary celebration of the ACS Commission on Cancer (CoC), which launched last year at Clinical Congress 2021. The ACS has recognized the achievements of its CoC-accredited cancer programs, member organizations, and leadership in helping to improve the quality of care for cancer patients through an anniversary website (coc100.facs.org), a special January 2022 issue of the Bulletin, and more. Be sure to look in the May Bulletin for additional coverage of the CoC centennial meeting March 22−23 in Chicago, IL.
