Cancer Surgery Standards Program

CSSP Presents on Operative Standards at SSO

Members of the CSSP will host a Panel Session on the Operative Standards for Cancer Surgery at the upcoming Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO) 2024 annual meeting on March 21 at 9:30 am ET.

Optimizing Cancer Surgery: Updates in Technical Aspects and Documentation of Common Surgical Oncology Operations will be moderated by Matthew H.G. Katz, MD, FACS and Mediget Teshome, MD, MPH, FACS, with speakers Michael Archer, DO, FACS; Carlo Contreras, MD, FACS; Tina Hieken, MD, FACS; and Nicole Lopez, MD, FACS. The session will feature informational presentations on Commission on Cancer (CoC) Standards 5.3-5.6 followed by a Q&A session. Attendees can expect to gain an understanding of the rationale, critical technical components, and advantages of synoptic reporting for CoC Standards 5.3-5.6. Additionally, presenters will review the advantages of interdisciplinary collaboration to effectively implement the standards at an institutional level.
