Cancer Surgery Standards Program

CoC Standard 5.6 Video Now Available

March 30, 2023

The Cancer Surgery Standards Program (CSSP) Education Committee has developed a brief video summarizing the requirements and best practices for compliance with CoC Standard 5.6: Colon Resection. This video reviews the requirements of Standard 5.6 as well as strategies to optimize compliance. It is recommended that all Cancer Liaison Physicians and State Chairs distribute this video to surgeons at their CoC-accredited cancer programs and encourage program staff to show the video during tumor boards. This resource is available in the Operative Standards Toolkit under Standard 5.6.
