The newly-revised National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) accreditation standards place patients and their care journey—from diagnosis to survivorship—at the center of the framework. The revised standards represent a paradigm shift to put the individualized needs of patients first. Read more about how the standards were refocused to address the unique needs of today’s patients with breast disease and breast cancer. In an accompanying YouTube video, Jill Dietz, MD, MHCM, FACS; Scott Kurtzman, MD, FACS; and Katharine Yao, MD, FACS, of the NAPBC discuss the process of rewriting the standards and how they hope the standards drive value-based care and improve the patient experience across the continuum.
In addition, Dr. Kurtzman was recently interviewed about the standards on NBC Connecticut.
