May 4, 2023

May is Melanoma Awareness Month and May 1 is Melanoma Monday. Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the US; in 2023, an estimated 97,610 new cases of melanoma of the skin will be diagnosed in the US according to the American Cancer Society.

Raise awareness in your community regarding the dangers of unprotected UV exposure, which is the most preventable skin cancer risk factor, by using the CoC Melanoma Awareness Month resources. The posters, and social media and electronic signature graphics will allow your program to promote its CoC accreditation and your commitment to educating the community on ways to reduce melanoma risk.

The Melanoma Awareness Month and other CoC marketing resources can be accessed as follows:

  • Log into QPort
  • In the left navigation bar, scroll to the bottom and click on Resources
  • Scroll in the middle panel to the Site Visit Resources section
  • Click on Marketing Resources

If you have questions or need assistance, contact coc@facs.org. Share with us any information on the activities that your program conducted to observe Melanoma Awareness Month.
