The Commission on Cancer (CoC) Cancer Liaison Program is accepting nominations through June 7 for the annual Cancer Liaison Physician (CLP) Outstanding Performance Award program.
Who Can Nominate:
- Cancer committee members
- CoC State Chairs
- CoC Site Reviewers
- American Cancer Society regional staff members
- Self-nomination
Nomination Process:
- To submit a nomination, complete the survey byJune 7
- The CoC State Chair CLP Education Advisory Group will choose the winners by August 10
To be eligible for the award, CLPs must:
- Have served at least one full year in the CLP role
- Understand and help to educate Cancer Committee members on the CoC Standards
- Exhibit clear understanding of National Cancer Database (NCDB) reporting tools, and use them effectively to assess program performance
- Identify and bring forward specific issues to the Cancer Committee that have resulted in changes that improve patient care
- Participate in regional cancer-related activities or American College of Surgeons Chapter events
- Foster strong relationships with the American Cancer Society. Nominators will be asked to provide additional details.
- Excel in the role of CLP
Cancer care teams from the same institution are encouraged to submit one nomination per CLP if there are multiple nominations. Previous CLP Award winners are not eligible for consideration.
