Cancer Surgery Standards Program

CSSP Names New Committee Vice Chair

June 13, 2024

Nicole Lopez, MD, FACS, has been named the new Vice-Chair of the Cancer Surgery Standards Program (CSSP) Surgical Information Transformation Committee (SITC). Dr. Lopez is board certified in general surgery, complex general surgical oncology, colon and rectal surgery, and clinical informatics. In addition, Dr. Lopez’s research focus is on improving surgical care and systems of care involving big data and health information technology.

The CSSP SITC provides guidance on the collection of essential data elements for cancer surgery by developing synoptic operative report templates and cancer surgery protocols.
