NCDB Announces Change in Case Reportability Definition

June 15, 2023

The definition of case reportability for CoC-accredited programs is now aligned with the definitions of the CoC Business Agreement (BA) and Data Use Agreements (DUA) signed by accredited programs. Beginning with diagnosis year 2023, case reportability has transitioned to the Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN TAX ID) definition and is included in the National Cancer Database (NCDB) Standards for Oncology Registry Entry v2023 manual available on the website.  For cases diagnosed prior to 2023, case reportability had been defined by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations definition.

To provide programs with additional information, a FEIN document has been posted in the NCDB Rapid Cancer Reporting System library and QPort Resource documents. For additional questions please reach out to NCDB@facs.org
