Historic Redlining Practices Cast a Long Shadow on Cancer Screening Rates

A new study published in the Journal of the American College of Surgeons (JACS) shows that people who live in historically redlined areas have lower screening rates for breast, cervical, and colorectal cancers. Until this study, the impact of historical redlining on cancer screening, regardless of contemporary social vulnerability, has been largely unexplored.
